Basement Release Wonderous New Single “Be Here Now”

Ipswich alt-grunge outfit Basement are at it again, releasing yet another wonderous single entitled “Be Here Now.” The track is the third single off of their third highly anticipated album Besides Myself . The album will be released via Fueled By Ramen, a now imprint of  Atlantic Records. Making this the Brit’s first major label release. What makes Basement such a standout band in the scene is their consistent ability to release hit records back to back. Even with the release of their first full length projects I Wish I Could Stay Here and colourmeinkindness they quickly created a cult like fan base that grew with them and quickly skyrocketed them through the charts and fame in equal measure. Musically Basements ability to cultivate their 90’s grunge and early 2000’s Jimmy Eat World-esque emo alt-rock sound keeps them standing out. Lyrically Andrew Fisher’s writing abilities is as stunning as his swoon worthy vocals. Vocalist Andrew Fisher speaks on the meaning behind the lyrics:

“’Be Here Now’ is about how hard I find it to feel content with what I’m doing, when I’m doing it. I over romanticize the past and the future, remembering what has been and looking forward to what will be, in a completely irrational and unfair way.”
